Dr. T. Steve Van Laecken
email me!
Dr. Steve has a strong faith in Jesus Christ. He has been married for 17 years to his beautiful wife, Lisa, with whom he has three wonderful daughters; Faith 13, Hope 11, and Grace 9. Dr. Steve believes that chiropractic is very powerful in that healing occurs with touch and that is what chiropractic is all about. Chiropractic means “done by hand” so, not only does he treat his family on a regular basis but he himself is treated multiple times per week so he can stay healthy.

Dr. Steve was born and raised in Minnesota. After being helped by a chiropractor in 1988 he decided at that point he wanted to do for others what he had experienced through chiropractic. Although it did not happen right away, it was always on his mind that he wanted to be a chiropractor. After staying in the family business for many years he decided to pursue his dream of helping people through chiropractic. He attended Parker Chiropractic College in Dallas, Texas where he took his studies very seriously and received many awards and certifications. Dr. Steve graduated from Parker Chiropractic College in December 2005 with his Doctorate in Chiropractic and a Bachelor of Science in Anatomy.

Dr. Steve is a very motivated chiropractor and believes that everyone should, at the very least, be checked out by a chiropractor. His dedication shows in that he is very involved and passionate about protecting chiropractic in order to have more people benefit from the care. He is active in the legislation process as well as a member of the two state chiropractic associations, including ACS and AAC, which he is running for Vice-President of this year. His goal is to bring the associations together to solidify the profession in order to get more people educated about chiropractic care instead of the often downward spiral of medicine.
Dr. Steve enjoys, more than anything, spending time with his wife and kids. He especially likes playing laser tag with them, going to church and taking his family out to eat. Staying healthy is also important to him. He feels that if he can’t stay healthy, then how can he teach others to be healthy? Dr. Steve likes the office to be a place where people like to come and hopes that everyone who comes in will feel like they are home!

Dr. Kristen Miller
email me!
Dr. Kristen Miller grew up in Cochranton, PA, a small rural town in Northwestern Pennsylvania. She began her pre-med undergraduate studies at Mercyhurst College in Erie, PA and from there, attended New York Chiropractic College in Seneca Falls, NY where she earned her Doctor of Chiropractic degree. Dr. Miller is a board certified chiropractic physician as well as board certified in physiotherapy.

She has always been active participating in sports all of her life and was introduced to chiropractic care after suffering a sports injury in high school. She wasn't sure what a chiropractic visit would be able to do for her but all she wanted to do was to get back on the basketball and volleyball court as soon as possible. Her parents took her to see a chiropractor where she witnessed first hand how effective chiropractic care is. She was back on the court in no time and it was during this time that she knew she wanted to become a chiropractor to help others experience all the benefits that chiropractic care brings.

She continues to stay in shape, not only for herself, but to teach others the importance of good nutrition and exercise in keeping the body fine-tuned for optimum performance and better health.

In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with her husband John, his daughter, Ryleigh and black lab, Aurora. She also plays in a volleyball league, spends time at the gym, loves to travel and enjoys most outdoor activities.

Katie, C.A./Back Office Manager
email me!
Katie has worked as a Chiropractic Assistant for almost two years now. She began working for Dr. Steve her senior year of high school, and as since could not imagine being anywhere else. This was her first exposure to Chiropractic care and has enjoyed every minute of learning new things and most importantly seeing countless patients get better!

Her schedule is constantly changing, so you’ll never know when exactly you’ll see Katie around the office. During the summer she is able to work full time, but most often she works part time in the office as she continues her education at Arizona State University. She is enrolled in the pre-medical program there and hopes to later attend Medical School at Midwestern University, school of Osteopathic Medicine.

School does a good job of keeping Katie busy, but she still tries to find time to do the things she loves. She is most happy just spending time with her friends and family. She also loves doing anything active, especially running long distance.

Katie is often times referred to as the shy one among the office staff, but loves working with patients and helping others. In the office Katie tries to help out where ever needed. Primarily she is found in the physical therapy area helping with the patients and making sure things are running smoothly.

Vilma, C.A./ Financial Officer
email me!
Vilma was born 1986 in Guatemala City but immigrated to the United States in Feb. 1988. Vilma’s mom carried her in her arms the entire way to Phoenix Arizona, she crossed through Mexico finding many nice people that helped her providing food and clothing since it was winter.

Vilma completed all her schooling in Phoenix and graduated from Metro-Tech High School in 2004 with a 2 year head start in Automotive and Diesel. Shortly after, Vilma decided to change her career path since the economy was starting to make a change and Auto Tech’s were losing their jobs. She was offered a job at State Farm which she took and stayed in that business for 2 years.

Vilma developed great communication skills, Vilma was a patient at Dr. Steve’s office for 2 years which his office was right across from the State Farm office. As Dr. Steve asked Vilma to help him find a bilingual person for his office as she kept referring bilingual girls never knowing that the one who would end up working with a GREAT Doctor would be her. Vilma got her Chiropractic Assistant License right away once she started her full time job with Dr. Steve’s practice.

Vilma is currently taking classes at South Mountain Community College to become a Language Interpreter. Vilma says that she has never been happier and comfortable at any other job. Vilma is grateful to God for having such a wonderful job where she found great co-workers, boss and where she helps patients live healthier.

Vanessa, Exercise Physiologist/ Massage Therapist
email me!
Vanessa is one of few Arizona Natives, she is the third born of the 5th generation of her family.Growing up Vanessa enjoyed being athletic, until she injured her knees in Basketball. Going through physical therapy, she discovered she had a passion for the study of the human anatomy, how it functions and how to fix it when it starts to break down. So, after high school she attended Mesa Community College to study Physiological Sciences (Sports Medicine) and The Arizona School of Massage Therapy.

After graduating from ASMT, Vanessa worked for awhile in Private Practice, from there she worked for Dr’s Goodman & Partridge, OB/GYN in Chandler, Arizona. Working for Dr’s Goodman & Partridge Vanessa went to each of their locations using massage to help their patients relax before their check-up. The OB patients loved this treatment especially, carrying a baby (or two) can put a lot of tension on a mother’s back!

Vanessa was briefly introduced to Chiropractic as a teenager, but had not received a chiropractic adjustment until she decided it was time for a change in her career. When she decided it was time for a change in her career she met and began working for Dr. Steve Van Laecken. He felt that if she was working for him she needed to know a little more about chiropractic care, so he made her a patient as well as an employee. It was the best thing that could have happened to her career and her spine!

Vanessa became aware of how much chiropractic care and massage therapy compliment each other. Combined the two help people achieve better results. Vanessa feels that one of the great things about Healthsource is that they incorporate Physical Therapy to the equation to give the patient a COMPLETE recovery.
